Program Description
Thirty years ago, Golden Gate became the first institution of higher learning to offer courses in technical market analysis. In 1998, encouraged by both international and national interest in the subject, GGU continued its leadership role by offering the new graduate Certificate in Technical Market Analysis. It was the first such certificate ever offered by a university.
The new certificate is designed to enhance the professional capabilities of traders, brokers, advisors, money managers, portfolio managers and similar investment professionals. With an increasing demand for certification by our society, the new certificate is especially important and it opens the door to greater use of technical market analysis in academia. The certififacte appricaites that behavioral finance has been recognized as a growing field and a sub-discipline of Finance.
The Certificate program encompasses five courses and can be completed in one to one-and-a-half years. No comprehensive examination is required. The curriculum is designed to correspond with - and in part prepare you for either- the three level examination for the Chartered Market Technician (CMT)or the Chartered Financial Technicians (CFTe) professional designations. Some courses are also being offered through Golden Gate University's nationally recognized CyberCampus. All of the relevant courses for the certificate can be independent of, attached to, or included within degree programs at the university. Prerequisites must be met or a waiver granted by the department chair, before students may take the courses in the certificate program.

· FI 354 Wyckoff Method I
· FI 355 Wyckoff Method II
· FI 358 Technical Analysis of Trading: Strategy and Implementation
· Any other ECON or FI 300- or 400-level course not previously taken. Recommended:
