Project and Systems Management Program

The continuing convergence of information technologies and business is creasing work environments growth that provide opportunities for motivated individuals in the areas of IT systems, operations processes and project management. If you are a person who values the opportunity to develop and sharpen those skills, the Master of Science in Project and Systems Management is for you.

Courses integrate operations, technology and project management curricula that support the rapidly evolving state of business. The core curriculum provides skills in managing Information Technology, with coursework in IT governance and program/portfolio management. Included is an introduction to the project management discipline.

Two concentrations, in Project Management and Information Technology, allow you to focus on the area that fits your objectives for professional growth. Choosing a concentration is not required; you may take courses that suit your needs.

The Information Technology concentration provides skills in IT architecture planning, supply chain management for e-business, distributed systems and business intelligence.

The Project Management concentration provides skills in quality and process improvement, contemporary supply chain management, and enhances your abilities in planning and controlling projects, project administration and leadership and team dynamics.

Project management skills in particular are highly valued in the workplace. Golden Gate University is a member of the Project Management Institute, and a Registered Education Provider. OP 346, the Practice of Project Management, provides significant review of the content areas that form the substance of the PMI examination for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

In addition to the curriculum, you'll develop skills that will supplement your coursework - in team leadership, communication, and managing change.
