A NEW CLASS BEGINS IN MARCH 2010!
Tools You Need to Succeed
As part of this program you'll be introduced to the fundamental aspects of running or creating a nonprofit organization including governance, fund development, marketing and communications, volunteerism, program development, financial management, strategic planning and legal issues.
Follow Your Passion Without Changing Your Lifestyle
According to the US Department of Labor's report October 2008 Labor Month in Review, the nonprofit sector employed 8.7 million employees in 2007, or nearly 6% of all US workers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics went on to compare the 2007 wages within the nonprofit sector (including state and local governments) to the 2007 wages within the private sector. Surprisingly, the study concluded that across all industries, full-time, nonprofit workers receive a higher hourly wage than their private sector counterparts.
This certificate program is available online through Golden Gate's CyberCampus, among the nation's most well established distance learning programs. In addition to your online activities, you may choose to spend 3 days in beautiful San Francisco during the final class in your five course program. During this time you'll network with your peers and begin implementing steps toward your new future in the nonprofit community (a 10% cost reimbursement is provided by the program to cover travel and lodging expenses, or to offset tuition should you choose not to travel to San Francisco.)
