Launch or extend your career in finance. The graduate certificate in finance is an excellent opportunity for students, including professionals currently working in the finance field, to advance their knowledge through teaching by instructors who are active in the business community. Courses provide real-world and in-depth exposure to the principles and practices necessary for a career in investment management or corporate finance. It focuses on specific, compelling areas necessary for success in careers in financial management, investment management, security analysis, corporate banking and portfolio management, among others.

The core course presents an intermediate level treatment of corporate finance that includes risk and return models, cost of capital calculations, real options in capital budgeting, capital structure theory and practice, leasing, option valuation and the analysis of option-like securities, financial risk management and multinational finance. Students can choose four additional classes from selected graduate-level Economics and Finance courses to round out their curriculum

Golden Gate University also gives students the opportunity to streamline their certificate coursework into a master's degree.

Please note that some courses taken as part of certificate programs will have prerequisites. These prerequisites must be satisfied (through transfer of equivalent coursework or through taking the courses at Golden Gate) before the certificate courses can be completed.
