Allan Mann was Principal of Allan Mann Communications, a solo practice specializing in marketing communications and public relations support for the health care industry, non-profit organizations and small businesses. Allan retired from Kaiser Permanente in 2002 after 23 years in the Public Affairs Department. During that time, he served as a Public Affairs Representative, Media Relations Director, Assistant Director and Director in Kaiser Permanente’s Southern California Region, and Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications at Kaiser Permanente’s national headquarters in Oakland.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Allan was a newspaper reporter, high school teacher and youth counselor, and served as Public Information Specialist and journalism instructor at the University of California’s Riverside campus. He also taught public relations writing for UCLA Extension for three years and served as president of the Southern California Health Care Public Relations Assn. Allan holds a BA in Psychology from UCLA, an MS in Journalism from Columbia University and a secondary teaching credential. He lives in Alameda
