Erika Boissiere

Erika is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #84047) who specializes in couples counseling. She founded The Relationship Institute of San Francisco, a consortium of like-minded therapists who specialize in relationship counseling.

After working for nearly a decade in the financial services sector for firms such as BlackRock and other buy-side / sell-side firms, Erika followed her passion to help others lead more fulfilling lives, and changed careers to become a Couples and Relationship Therapist. Her background in the corporate world brings a practicality and tool-based approach to her therapy with couples.

Erika ascribes to the approaches developed by top couples researchers, including the works of John Gottman, Susan Johnson, and Terrance Real. She attends several trainings a year to be current with the latest approaches and research, and believes strongly in the efficacy of psychotherapy treatment.

Erika received a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco, where she received training in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a double major in Economics and Political Science.
