Larry Goldzband is Executive Director of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC). Established in 1965, BCDC is a permanent state agency dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the San Francisco Bay and to the encouragement of the Bay’s responsible use. In his position as Executive Director of the 40-person organization, Goldzband leads planning and policy development efforts, guides disparate stakeholders to agree on difficult policy choices, and increases BCDC’s productivity and efficiency. Goldzband brings an extensive policy, planning, and managerial background to complement BCDC’s dual functions of conservation and economic development. Prior to his current position, Larry was Program Director at the California Performance Building Contractors Association for eighteen months, and managed Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s charitable contributions program for almost eleven years, which provided almost $20M in grants mainly to California-based nonprofit organizations annually. A graduate of Pomona College, Larry worked Washington, D.C. for members of both the House and Senate, and was Chief Deputy Cabinet Secretary for former Governor Pete Wilson, managing policy development within the Governor's Cabinet.
