Shoshana Asher was born in East Texas; the daughter of a high school basketball coach and a high school mathematics teacher. She came to the University of California at Berkeley to study in Berkeley’s mathematics department. She was most fortunate to work under the supervision and direction of several of the world’s finest mathematicians: Professors Hans Bremermann, David Blackwell, Donald Sarason, Oscar Lanford III, and Jerrold E Marsden. Since leaving Berkeley, she lived in San Francisco and has been teaching here at Golden Gate University.
