A cohort allows you the opportunity to begin and end a program with the same group of students. While enrolled in the same courses in a prescribed sequence, you'll develop a strong sense of community with your fellow peers as you work toward graduation.

Whether you are arriving at GGU directly from completing your undergraduate degree or coming from a career in another industry, the full-time cohort programs rapidly transform your skills and abilities into those of a successful practitioner in your field.

Executive MBA

This practice-based learning program is for experienced managers who aspire to lead organizations. Its features include a speaker series with business leaders who will share their insights on managing and leading their companies. A study trip takes you to multinational businesses in Shanghai and Beijing. You will also complete a consultancy project for a real business client in your final term. Students must have eight years of work experience, five in a management role.

Executive MPA

Unlike the traditional MPA that includes a core of common classes and an emphasis program to prepare you for work in a specific focus area of your choice, the Executive MPA program assumes that you already have developed competence within a specific functional area. Thus, it builds on your existing skills through in-depth case discussions on the critical areas of executive and managerial focus common to middle and upper-level management in all governmental and nonprofit organizations, locally and globally. Using a combination of intensive in-person and mixed-mode courses, you will complete your degree in 18 months (one course per term).

The EMPA cohort program is offered at GGU's Silicon Valley site and through enterprise-sponsored sites across the Bay Area.

GRADUATE ACCOUNTING AND TAXATION DAY COHORTS

Accelerated Full-Time Cohorts

With our full-time, intensive programs, you will earn your graduate MS in Taxation (MS Tax), MS in Accounting (MSA), or Master of Accountancy (MAc) degree in as little as one year or less by taking classes at Golden Gate University’s downtown San Francisco campus in the heart of the financial district.

• Every week of the program, you will be interacting with tax and accounting professionals — whether they are guest lecturers in your classes, presenting technical information on lunchtime panels or providing career and job search insights to you one-on-one.

• You will quickly learn to fluently speak the language of the accounting and taxation professions. From your first day as a GGU full-time cohort student, you will be considered to be a tax or accounting professional. Business casual dress is required, workplace professionalism and courtesies are observed, and timeliness and adherence to deadlines are practiced.

For students who cannot attend our full-time accelerated cohort programs, we offer our MS Tax, MSA, and MAc degrees in both a part-time evening format and online.

Some students prefer day study, especially international students who are visiting San Francisco to attain their education. Domestic students who are not restricted by a full-time work may also find this option appealing. The cohort format provides the benefit of peer interaction and a clear date of completion, as you progress through the 12 month program together. GGU offers day cohorts as follows: MBA (no concentration); MS in Finance; MS in Integrated Marketing Communications.

In this program you will gain practical knowledge of all human resource management functions including recruitment and selection, safety and health, contemporary compensation strategies, benefits administration and employment law. You will deepen your understanding of how workforce performance impacts organizational success.

The MS HRM is offered through a unique one-year accelerated  program with 10 graduate courses that combine in-person and  online formats. Cohort groups are offered in Silicon Valley every fall and San Francisco every spring. This program will accept a maximum of 25 students, so inquire today!

The MS HRM program is also offered during the week in non-cohort format in San Francisco and online through CyberCampus.

PROFESSIONAL MBA

Nathaniel Henderson

This program is designed for the early-career professional with at least five years of full-time work experience, three in a managerial role. Fellow cohort members progress through their journey together, immersed in an intensive 16-month course of study to learn how to meet real business challenges. Start with a strong emphasis on teamwork, learn core business skills and knowledge and conclude with a final term that integrates personal goals, company objectives and social values.

Classes are held at GGU's San Francisco campus and online through our award-winning CyberCampus.
