Follow along with the instructions that wll tell you how to begin the process of downloading RealPlayer to your computer.
Read and accept the RealPlayer license.
RealPlayer offers to install a shortcut to your desktop and other desktop features which are not necessary. The screen shot below shows UNchecking all the boxes for desktop settings.
A status bar will appear and show the download process as the RealPlayer installer is copied to your computer.
RealPlayer offers to be the program which will open all of your multimedia. This is not necessary. You may instead choose to check the "select media types for RealPlayer from a list" box.
If you have chosen to check the box to "select media types for RealPlayer from a list" you'll get a screen like the one below. Scroll down on this list until you reach the RealAudio and RealVideo category. Check every box in the RealAudio and RealVideo categories.If you find that you have more or all of the other boxes checked that is fine - it's simply how you had previously set things up so just leave the checked boxes the way they are. Once you are finished click on the "Finish" button.
RealPlayer may offer to install another feature program like "WeatherBug". Choosing other programs recommended by RealPlayer is not necessary:
You will now be asked to enter your RealPlayer email and password.If you don't remember these, or believe you were never asked for a username and password, click on the link to have your login information emailed to you:
After you log in RealPlayer will confirm your zipcode and country.The next step is choosing the FREE player. For all Golden Gate University purposes only the FREE player is required:
The final step! After all components of the RealPlayer are downloaded RealPlayer will launch an opening page with news and advertisements. You can close this RealPlayer window by selecting the "X" in the upper right corner.
