Windows Media Player

To install Windows Media Player please go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/download/download.aspx and then follow the instructions below:

• 1. click the download now button:

• 2. Save to Desktop

• 3. the file will download to your desktop

• 4. double click on the file on your desktop
• 5.select the "Run" button if you get a security warning

• 6. Windows Media Player will extract

• 7. Follow any instructions given for proper set up (ie. closing all Windows)

• 8. Read throught the agreement and select the "I Agree" button
• 9. Wait for the install to complete:

• 10. Choose the "Run" button to run the software

• 11. Choose the "Next" button

• 12. Choose Privacy Options by checking/unchecking the boxes

• 13. Choose the file formats that you would like Windows Media Player to handle
• 14. Choose the "Finish" button

• 15. Now your Windows Media Player should be ready to go!

• Visit the Windows Media Player 7.1 for OS 8.1 to 9.x download site http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/mac71.aspx

• Click the "Download" button.
• A Download Manager window will open indicating the status of the download of the Windows Media Installer (WMPlayer7_1_EN). The completed file will be downloaded to your Desktop or a default location where downloads have been set to.

*Upon completion of download, a Windows Media Player Installer (WMPlayer7_1_EN) icon will be visible.

• Double-click on the "Windows Media Installer" icon (WMPlayer7_1_EN); installation will begin.
• A "Windows Media Player" window will open. Click on the "Continue" button.

• A License Agreement will be displayed. Read and understand the terms and conditions of the licensing agreement. Click on the "Accept" button to continue.

• A Read Me statement will appear. Click on the "Continue" button.

• A "Windows Media Player" Installation window will appear. Click on the "Install" button.

• A window will appear asking for permission to quit all open applications. Click on the "Continue" button.

• A window will be displayed asking for permission to search the hard drive for installed components. Click on the "OK" button.

• Note: If an earlier version of Windows Media Player is installed on your computer, a window will appear noting that, in fact, an earlier version of the Windows Media Player is installed on your computer. Delete the earlier version and install Windows Media Player by clicking "Install".

• A Network Connection window will appear. Choose your network connection speed and proxy if necessary. Click on the "OK" button.

• The installation will inquire as to the specific folder(s) to install any browser plug-ins. Locate and select specific folders needed for the installation process.

• The window will now indicate that the Windows Media Player is "Installing." Allow it to complete.
• At completion of installation, a window will appear stating, "Installation was successful. If you are finished, click Quit to leave the Installer ..." Click on the "Quit" button.

• The Windows Media Player 7.1 installation is complete.
