| BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB |
|
Assists all international students and scholars in achieving successful academic and personal experiences while attending Golden Gate University; provides support and advising on issues related to various federal regulations, academic procedures, personal adjustment, and career development; consults with a wide array of academic units through visa processing.

| ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
Direct Sales/Admission/Evaluation:
• Provide case management leadership to advance student from prospect to graduation.
• Deploy understanding of consultative, relationship and solution sales, on behalf of international prospective learners by using customer relationship management (CRM) database; initiates telesales and e-mail outreach to international and foreign credential prospective students.
• Follow through with prospective pipeline with tenacity with emphasis on continued improvement on conversion of international prospective students to enrolled status.
• Display strong commitment to performance tracking using metrics reporting, organization of data, and documentation of daily activities.
• Credential Collection and Evaluations: Collect and evaluate documents to determine foreign credential of international applicant eligibility; Study course prerequisites, degree equivalents, and accreditation of schools, and compute grade point averages to establish students' qualifications for admission, transfer, or graduation; prepare statistical reports;
process international student health care applications; perform data entry.
Retention/Immigration:
• Serve as a Designated School Official and as an Alternate Responsible Officer with federal agencies for Golden Gate University; Collaborate with internal and external staff to ensure that accurate data is collected and maintained in appropriate databases; Provide accurate information as requested by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS) in accordance with federal regulations, FERPA (Federal Educational Right to Privacy Act) guidelines, and campus policies.
• Advise students with regard to program and course selection by providing information to students on evaluations, admission and transfer credit procedures, registration policies and general academic policies.
• Research and resolve issues or refer students to appropriate department or individual as needed; Refer students with academic discrepancies to proper department heads for further action.
• Serve as liaison to government agencies, member of NAFSA Association of International Educators; Assist students in complying with government regulations concerning status, immigration, visas, passports, permission to work, and related matters.
Event Management:
• Plan and execute orientation program, International Education Week, Admission Events.
• Participate in activities to support student retention and serve as a resource point for faculty and staff.

| QUALIFICATIONS |

• Knowledge of: Principles and practices of graduate admissions, academic administration and international student services. Administrative procedures and organizational management tools. Automated student database and academic record systems. Basic understanding of student visa procedures and US immigration policy. Windows based PCs using MS Office Suite 2003.
• Ability to: Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the international community. Communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively in oral and written forms. Work effectively with students from a variety of cultures and educational backgrounds. Work independently and accurately with attention to detail, but also demonstrate ability to work as a productive member of a team.
Customer-service oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent communication skills--oral and written; strong problem solving skills, analytical skills to interpret and communicate complex regulations to help others from diverse cultures who have various levels of English proficiency; must be eligible for certification by DHS as a Designated School Official and the DOS as an Alternate Responsible Officer as required by federal regulations; fluency in a foreign language (oral, written) is a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university preferred; Master's degree in related field preferred; one to two years related experience and/or training in an academic administrative and advising role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
