Book of Business is an amazing roman-à-clef which predominately cannibalizes the San Francisco legal community. If you hate lawyers, this is the book for you. It concerns the rise and fall of attorney Gus Bondoc (whose spectacular book of business or business clientele gives the book its name) who through his representation of Haitian Dictator, Baby Doc Duvalier, and his own venality sows the seeds of his own spectacular fall. In addition there is a large cast of characters, mostly lawyers, happy to help Bondoc on his way down the ladder. These lawyers run the gamut from sneaky to self-righteous and help flesh out what is a compelling and entertaining legal thriller. For a peak behind the curtain, this is the book for you.
