Golden Gate University School of Law professor Mort Cohen is the recipient of a regional Jefferson Award for Public Service for his tremendous pro bono work on behalf of the elderly and mentally ill. These awards were originally founded in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, U.S. Senator Robert Taft, Jr., and Sam Beard to create a "Nobel Prize" for public service.
