Profiles: Robert Hite
Vice President, Business Affairs; Chief Financial Officer
Robert D. Hite, Vice President of Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer, joined the Golden Gate University (GGU) leadership team in 2008. He has more than 35 years of experience in finance and administration in higher education in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Most recently, he served as Menlo College Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer for eight years, where he also oversaw the development and completion of the campus master plan and the completion of a consolidated student service center. From 1995 to 1999, he was Vice President for Finance and Treasurer at Holy Names College in Oakland, where he also developed an RFP for a facilities conditions survey; worked with investment bankers to issue $5.9 MM in tax-exempt bonds, and oversaw construction.
In the second half of his 10-year (1982-92) tenure at San Francisco State University, Hite served as the Director of Financial Services. Among numerous accomplishments at SFSU, he succeeded in consolidating accounting functions and overseeing the remodeling of offices for 60 employees, resulting in more efficient operations and significant cost savings. He has worked with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in various capacities, including as an evaluation team member and a member of the WASC proposal review committee.
Hite holds a BS in Business Administration and Accounting from University of Arizona, and has passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination. His office's mission is to provide direction and support of business and financial operations as well as student financial services.
