Michael Schinner is the founder of The Schinner Law Group and is certified as a specialist in Taxation Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. As a respected attorney, professor and author, Michael draws upon nearly 15 years of legal experience to assist individuals and emerging growth companies in all facets of business. He is fully experienced in all aspects of corporate finance, acquisitions, mergers, recapitalizations, reorganizations, divestitures and corporate liquidations and dissolutions. Michael began his legal career with the San Francisco law firm Bancroft, Avery & McAlister and later joined Steefel, Levitt & Weiss. Michael has formed hundreds of corporations and limited liability companies and has emerged as a recognized leader in the area of LLCs. In addition, he has published numerous business and tax related articles in leading law journals such as California Business Law Practitioner (CEB), Journal of Taxation, Journal of S Corporation Taxation, American Journal of Tax Policy, California Tax Lawyer, Commercial Law Journal, and Trademark World. Recently, Michael retired after 21 years of service as a Major in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the U.S. Army Reserves. He has been awarded as a Super Lawyer in Northern California and is a board member for the Planning Commission in San Anselmo. Michael holds a B.A. in Business from College of Mount St. Joseph graduating summa cum laude, a J.D. from University of Cincinnati and an LL.M. in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law.
