Dean, Ageno School of Business

In June 2011, Paul Fouts was appointed interim dean of the Edward S. Ageno School of Business. For the previous 12 years, Fouts was the associate dean and director of MBA programs at the Ageno School, where he has been a professor of strategy since 1995 teaching in the areas of corporate strategy, international strategy, and technology management. Fouts received a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in 1995, and MBA from Sonoma State in 1991 and a BA from University of California Berkeley in 1969.

As a professor, Fouts conducted research and has publications and presentations in the areas of corporate strategy, technology management, organizational structure, and environmental policy. He was the recipient of the Moskowitz Prize for 1998 for the best research in corporate environmental performance and the Outstanding Paper Award in the International Journal of Commerce and Management in 2010. He has made presentations to international private, governmental, and educational audiences, and has taught in corporate training programs for companies such as Cisco, Chevron, Gilead and Credit Suisse. As a member of GGU faculty, Fouts received the outstanding scholarship of teaching and the outstanding scholarship of service awards.

Prior to starting his career in education, Paul Fouts had twenty years of senior management experience in the San Francisco Bay Area in the retail, manufacturing and services industries for firms including Topps & Trowsers, Marin Mountain Bikes and Circa Corporation and worked in the New Product Introduction group at Hewlett-Packard, Signal Analysis Division.
