Agile Project Manager, Rich Relevance

Tell us about your family in India. What kind of values did they inspire that lead you to where you are today?

I come from a business family and my father is a self made man. I have two sisters. Being youngest in the family, I was always pampered but at the same time I inherited values like hard work and punctuality from him. We were always taught that there is no shortcut to success.

When you were a child, what did you first want to be when you grew up?

After finishing high school, I wanted to become an accountant and took accounting as my career. I did my Masters in Finance from India. Accountancy was interesting to me, and I really enjoyed it. Eventually, I started to gain interest in the field of Information Technology and when I moved to the US, I decided to gain formal education in IT and make it my career.

What path led you from India to GGU?

I came to the US after my marriage and I decided to pursue my studies further to prepare myself for the job industry. GGU's highly successful program in MS Information Technology Management inspired me and I decided to go for it.

What do you feel you've learned at GGU that will stay with you forever?

GGU has been a very special experience to me. Being new to this country, GGU has given me lot of exposure to American culture and ways of doing business. My professors have been my greatest source of learning and inspiration. Getting my master's degree represented a great leap forward in my career. Most of my classmates were experienced professionals, so we were able to share a lot of real world experiences.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I'd like to pursue my career in the field of internet marketing where I can utilize my strong analytical and communication skills combined with a degree of Information Technology Management. Excellent course work at Golden Gate and my prior work background has given me a strong knowledge base in the fields of internet marketing and business intelligence and confidence that I can make a positive contribution.
