Provides knowledge and skills for interacting with the media. Students will study the definition of news and its role in the management of a business or other organization. Students will learn techniques for planning and executing successful editorial approaches including placement of news releases with print and electronic media, management of the news event, and effective strategies for spokespersons when meeting the press.
Prerequisite: PR 320. Students must pass the Graduate Writing Proficiency Exam or complete ENGL 201 Graduate Writing (formerly ENGL 301) with a grade of B or better before registering for this course., Units: 3 , Offered: Spring 2016
