Graduate Certificate in Advanced Studies in Taxation
A specialized graduate certificate designed to help tax professionals with a graduate tax degree to update and broaden their knowledge.
ProGRAM Highlights
This graduate certificate program is aimed at working tax professionals who have already earned an MS or MBA in taxation, but feel like they want to remain on the cutting edge of tax law. The flexible schedule allows working professionals to pursue their degree at their own pace: students need to complete the 12 semester units over a 5 year period. While an MS, MBA in taxation, or LLM (tax) degree from Golden Gate is required, students with tax degrees from other schools may be accepted upon approval of the dean.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission to the advanced studies in taxation program is open to those individuals who have received an MS or MBA in taxation (or an LLM in taxation) degree from Golden Gate University.
Please note that some courses taken as part of certificate programs will have prerequisites. These prerequisites must be satisfied (through transfer of equivalent coursework or through taking the courses at Golden Gate University) before the certificate courses can be completed.

Total Units — 12
This certificate requires completion of 12 units of graduate courses. Qualifying courses include all those leading to the Master of Science in Taxation.
With the dean’s approval, students may repeat up to two (3-unit) courses that were previously taken as part of the student’s MS degree curriculum.
