Peter CottanPeter came to GGU back in 2005 from Portsmouth, England. Originally his goal was to change his career path by gaining an MBA from GGU. That he did! During his studies he worked part time in the records office, until being appointed as Assistant Director in 2006. Since then Peter has worked advising in undergraduate programs until 2008 when he moved across the hall to head up advising in the Ageno School of Business for Dean Connelly.Peter's previous experience comes from the hospitality industry, having worked for major hotel companies such as Marriott, Holiday Inn and Hilton in London. He also has a BA in International Hospitality and Tourism from Bournemouth University, UK.You'll find that Peter is pretty happy here in San Francisco, and often takes advantage of the wonderful weather in San Francisco out on the tennis court. Many know Peter as the founder of GGU Tennis, having taken a group of students to compete in the USTA campus championships in Stanford in 2007. Lauren JohnsonLauren received her Bachelors Degree in Social Science at California State University, Sacramento and has worked in educational institutions for over 6 years. Lauren grew up surrounded by family members who were college counselors and professors. She relocated from her home town of Sacramento to San Francisco in 2007. She belongs to Linkedin, Facebook and many other social groups and looks forward to meeting new people. Lauren has a beloved pet dog named Clovis with whom she often shares their tales and adventures of life in San Francisco. Jeannie SnyderJeannie grew up in the south bay and moved to the Seattle area while attending high school. In 1991, the opportunity to move back to the sunny bay area had arrived. She packed up her three daughters and settled in Concord. While pursuing a Bachelors' in Business Administration, an opportunity fell at her feet and she began her employment in education as a program coordinator. Overseeing the implementation of the Funds for Student Success and Carl D. Perkins Vocational-Technical Education Act grants, which provided support services for student success. Finishing her AA in Liberal Arts, she transferred to Golden Gate University (GGU) and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations in 2003. Her employment with GGU began in the fall of 2003 at the Walnut Creek teaching site. Over her tenure she has held several positions in admissions and advising. Her most recent position was the Walnut Creek teaching site manager and Graduate Student Services Advisor. With the recent closure of the site, Jeannie has moved to the San Francisco main campus where she continues to advise graduate students and is continuing her own education - Master of Arts in Applied Psychology - Counseling. Elizabeth AbaunzaLiz was born and raised in our beautiful San Francisco. She received her associate's degree in business software from Heald College. Upon graduating she accepted a position working for Bryman (Everest) College, where she handled many administrative aspects of the admissions process. Liz became a part time student at Golden Gate University in 2004, where she began taking courses toward completion of her bachelor degree in business administration. In the interim, she became a licensed real estate agent. She was able to enhance her communication skills while assisting potential homebuyers and sellers in making intelligent and knowledgeable decisions.In August of 2006, Liz began working as a Records/Registration Technician; she learned the ropes quickly and was soon promoted to handle the Graduation Process. Within a short time she took on the position of Assistant Director of Records and Registration, where she oversaw the daily processes of the Registrar's office. She recently made the cross over to the Academic side of the University and is now a Student Advisor with the Ageno School of Business. She is very excited in her new venture! Liz hopes to get to know all of her students as well as help them in reaching their educational goals.On another note, Liz loves spending time with her doggy, Jack. Mark KennedyIn addition to advising Information Technology and Operations Management students, Mark is the Regional Site Manager for Silicon Valley and Monterey. He coordinates the Human Resource Management Cohorts and manages the Executive MPA cohorts.Mark earned his BS in Marketing from GGU in San Francisco and his MBA while attending classes at GGU in the Silicon Valley. Mark started his career with GGU as the Recruiter for Silicon Valley and Monterey campuses. He helped start the first campus in San Jose and has coordinated the move from San Jose to our present Silicon Valley location at Techmart in Santa Clara.Mark enjoys sailing and swimming.
