Golden Gate University School of Law - 1910-1929

1910Thomas Hayden is appointed Dean.

June 1: The YMCA Law School is incorporated to confer degrees.

November 10: The new YMCA building at 220 Golden Gate Avenue opens.

The educational arm of the YMCA changes its name to Golden Gate Evening College. The name, suggested by a law student, Charles Pool, is chosen as "symbolic of romantic California."

1923April 9: Golden Gate College is incorporated as an educational institution but still maintains close ties to the YMCA.
1928The first two women graduate from the law school.
