Entering students may matriculate in August each year. The full-time day program usually takes 3 years, but can be completed in 2-1/2 years. See JD Student Recommended Schedules for more curriculum information.
Entering students matriculate in August each year. Students attend class four nights per week during their first year. Thereafter, they attend three or four nights per week and attend one or two eight-week summer sessions. The part-time evening program usually takes 4 years, but can be completed in 3-1/2 years, with two summer sessions. See JD Student Recommended Schedules for more curriculum information.With approval of the Dean of Student Services, students may transfer from the part-time to the full-time program (or vice-versa) after completing their first year of study.
- Honors Lawyering Program (HLP): In this honors program, students integrate classroom learning with actual legal experience by participating in two full-time, semester-long Professional Apprenticeships. See JD Student Recommended Schedules for more curriculum information.
- Joint Degrees: Students may earn a JD/MBA or a JD/PhD in Clinical Psychology.
- Specialization Certificates: These are awarded in a variety of areas.
- Practical Legal Training: Golden Gate University School of Law offers a variety of programs to provide hands-on legal experience.
