Applying to Honors Lawyering Program
How do I apply to HLP?
On the
Application for Admission, check the box indicating that you would like to apply to the Honors Lawyering Program. The Admissions Committee considers academic performance as well as work and life experience. The application process may also include a telephone interview.
Current students: 1L students may apply to join HLP. Please attend the Information Meeting on Monday, January 11, 11:45-12:45, Room 3201. The application deadline is noon on Monday, January 25. Applications are available in Law Student Services and Law Career Services.
Eligibility
Acceptance to HLP is competitive and based on information in your application packet. The Admissions Committee looks for students who have demonstrated academic achievement and an ability to work well under pressure.
Part-Time Students
Part-time students may apply to transfer to the full-time Honors Lawyering Program under limited circumstances.
Joint Programs
- Students enrolled in the JD/MBA program are eligible for HLP. They should consult with the Director of Student Services regarding their schedules.
- Students enrolled in the JD/PhD program are not eligible for HLP due to a conflict in academic schedules.
