Sompong Sucharitkul Center for Advanced International Legal Studies

In 1990, GGU established the Sompong Suchariktul Center for Advanced International Legal Studies. Since the inception of the Center, the international legal studies program has expanded from the traditional notion of international law to encompass a broader range of international and comparative legal studies. The Sompong Sucharitkul Center for Advanced International Legal Studies now includes the JD international legal studies program, the LLM and SJD programs in international legal studies, one summer abroad program (in Paris, France), numerous faculty and student exchange programs, an active student organization, an annual international and comparative law symposium, and a law journal, The Annual Survey of International and Comparative Law.

GGU's rich offerings in international legal studies are enhanced by our diverse community of graduate law students from around the world, including experienced lawyers and professors of law who are studying for an advanced law degree and represent many of the world's major legal systems. At Golden Gate, you read about different legal systems in the law library AND experience them in the classroom.

Through its network of scholars and collaborators, the Sompong Sucharitkul Center for Advanced International Legal Studies has spread the name of Golden Gate University School of Law around the globe in every imaginable way. The center stands in a unique position to provide opportunities for its students and graduates.
