Does ExamSoft work on Macs?
Yes, starting with the Fall 2006 term, we will allow Macs in the examination room, but only the Intel Macs already set up with the dual boot system. Please make sure to have the Apple OS and Windows XP already installed. We do not offer assistance with this system set up.

My computer will not start up properly. Should I use the system recovery CD or reload the operating system?
Before performing any drastic system upgrade or re-installing the operating system, please consult with the examination coordinator first. Re-installing the operating system can erase existing exam answer files. It is the student's responsibility to ensure the examination coordinator has received the exam answer files.
I am trying to download ExamSoft but it is not accepting my student ID for my username and/or password. I registered for the pseudo course and paid on time.
Please do not enter the leading zero in your student ID number. Note that you do not create your own password. Refer to the registration e-mail sent by the examination coordinator.
I was able to log into ExamSoft with my student ID, but I cannot download an exam file.
A personal firewall such as McAfee Personal Firewall, Norton Personal Firewall, Zone Alarm can block the Softest connection. Please add "examsoft.com" to the list of safe Web sites or temporarily disable the firewall.
My computer is being repaired. Can I download ExamSoft and install it on another laptop?

www.examsoft.com/ggulaw and follow the Exam Takers link at the bottom of the page.
I just finished my exam, but I cannot upload an exam file.
SofTest may require a few moments before it can establish an Internet connection. Launch SofTest, click on the Options button. Change the upload delay to 10 seconds. Exit SofTest and launch it again. If this added delay fails to upload the exam file, contact the proctor immediately.
Do I need to bring an Ethernet network cable on an exam day?
Yes, unless you have wireless capability. Make sure to register your wireless address with GGU well in advance of your exam. You can register your laptop's MAC address online via GGU4YOU under the "Profile" tab.

What can I do to ensure that SofTest functions properly?
It helps to minimize the number of automatic startup programs. If possible, uninstall instant messengers and file sharing software (Limewire, WinMX, Morpheus, etc). Spyware also tends to cause a computer to run slowly. Run spyware removal tools regularly. Common ones are Spybot, Ad Aware. The Microsoft Antispyware utility, however, is known to be incompatible with SofTest. The fewer programs there are on a computer, the less likely it is to develop problems.
