Day Tax Program |
![]() Mary Canning Dean, School of Taxation | The School of Taxation 2009-2010 full-time day Master of Taxation Cohort, will begin August 3, 2009 with a mandatory orientation on July 31, 2009. This full-time day Tax program has been designed to allow students to graduate in as little as 9 months. Students in a cohort take courses as a group, enrolling in the same classes with the same instructors. Eligible students will be able to participate in paid internships during the spring trimester of 2010. The job placement support available to day cohort students is exceptional, with activities ranging from sessions that will develop interviewing skills, to presentations by accounting firm partners and corporate tax executives about career opportunities, to a mock interview lunch with industry leaders on the 52nd floor of the Bank of America building. To better understand the events day students are required to attend, please take a look at last year's calendar. Please note that any applicant who has not taken accounting courses is strongly encouraged to enroll in the intensive, 8-week accounting bootcamp program (June 5 through July 30, 2009). The courses covered in this session are ACCTG 50 (Financial Accounting for Accounting Majors), ACCTG 100A (Intermediate Accounting) and ACCTG 100B (Intermediate Accounting II). Anyone interested should contact the School of Taxation at 415-442-7880 or by email, tax@ggu.edu. |
