Day Tax ProgramOur MS in Taxation degree program is one of the finest tax programs in the nation. The curriculum consists of courses covering general and specialized tax subjects such as estate and gift tax; partnerships; C corporations; LLCs and S corporations; California and multistate tax; international tax, retirement plans; tax issues for individuals; and tax research.All classes in our MS Tax day cohort program are taught by tax practitioners and lawyers who are experts in their field. Every eligible full-time cohort student may participate in the taxation internship selection process. Earn Your Degree in Less Than One YearWith our full-time, intensive cohort program, you will be able to earn your graduate MST degree in as little as 9 months. Located at Golden Gate University's downtown San Francisco campus in the heart of the financial district, students will study in a cohort group - taking all of the courses together, building a lifelong professional network upon graduation. Rigorous academic challenges will be supplemented by professional networking, career development and hands-on learning opportunities. As part of the degree, eligible students can complete a well-paid internship for academic credit, obtaining valuable career experience. Career Development and Placement Support Cohort students earning their MST degree will attend many frequent workshops focusing on career search techniques, including resume writing and interview coaching. Multiple career options are presented by tax and accounting firms and industry leaders. Networking events and interactive sessions with accounting and tax prefessionals at all levels - from first year staff members to managing partners - are convened exclusively for cohort students. Technical panels and hands-on traning sessions allow cohort students to immediately leverage their classroom knowledge so they are able to use what they have learned in real-life practice situations during their internship or employment position. Please note that any applicant who has not taken accounting courses is strongly encouraged to enroll in the intensive, 8-week accounting bootcamp program (early June through late July). The courses covered in this session are ACCTG 50 (Financial Accounting for Accounting Majors), ACCTG 100A (Intermediate Accounting) and ACCTG 100B (Intermediate Accounting II). Internship Eligibility Students eligible for internship credit must have no tax experience, have taken at least 6 courses in the tax program and maintained a 3.0 GPA. Applying to the Cohort Program Admission to the full time 9 month cohort program is selective and limited.
