Associate Professor of Law
Eva McComas has more than 20 years of experience as an ERISA attorney and consultant
in the area of employee benefits. She currently works for
Miller & Chevalier. Prior to joining Miller & Chevalier, she was an employee benefits attorney in private
practice.
Eva advises employers with respect to their retirement plans (401(k), defined benefit
and 403(b)). She also advises clients with respect to health and welfare issues, such
as cafeteria plans, COBRA and HIPAA. In addition, she addresses employee benefits
issues in the context of mergers and acquisitions.As an adjunct professor, she teachers
ERISA I and ERISA II courses in the LLM in Taxation program at Golden Gate University
School of Law. These courses focus on the significant requirements of the Internal
Revenue Code and ERISA for 401(k) plans. Eva received a LLM in Taxation from Georgetown
University Law Center and a JD from Washington and Lee University School of Law. She
received her undergraduate degree from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.
