What should I do if the course section I want is almost full, and I have a registration hold to resolve?
Contact the office or academic unit noted in the registration failure message right away and follow the instructions you are given. Your registration cannot be processed until the hold is resolved.
What can I do if a course section I want is full?
You may elect to be placed on the wait list for the section. If/as seats open in the section, you will be notified by e-mail that a seat is available and you will be given a deadline by which you must add the section. You may add the section online via the "Manage My Waitlist" link on the GGU4YOU "Student" menu. Law students with academic registration holds may add wait listed courses by sending messages to lawreg@ggu.edu requesting to be enrolled, or may submit hard copy registration forms to the Law Registrar's Office.
What should I do if the dates, days, times or instructor for a course section in which I have registered are changed, and I no longer want to take the section?
Drop the section. If you want to add a different section of the same course, you may add that section at the same time you are dropping this first one. If you want to add a different course, and were subject to advising requirements when you first registered, you will need to obtain adviser approval before adding a different course.
What can I do if I want to register for a course, and the regular registration period has ended?
You will need to obtain the approval of the instructor and senior school administrator. If this is the first course for which are registering for the term, you will be subject to the Late Registration Fee in addition to the regular course tuition and applicable fees; the late fee will be included in your bill if appropriate. Law students may enroll after the end of the add period with permission of the instructor.
I want to register for a variable unit course that is offered for 2-4 units, but when I select the course says it is 2 units. How do I register for 3 units?
For any variable unit courses, the default unit value is the minimum number of units, and that is what will appear when you select the course. To register for more units, within the range allowed for the course, change the number of units in the box on the right side of the page to the number in which you want to enroll. You can change it when selecting the course to be added to your preferred list, or on your preferred list before submitting it for registration.
What can I do if I receive a registration hold message and believe that I have either cleared the hold already, or that it is incorrect?
Contact the department(s) noted in the hold message and follow the instructions you are given or contact registration@ggu.edu or (415) 442-7222. Law students with holds should contact the Law Registrar's Office at lawreg@ggu.edu or 415-442-6620.
What can I do if I discover that I have registered for the wrong section or course?
Contact the Registration Office at registration@ggu.edu or (415) 442-7222. Law students should contact the Law Registrar's Office at lawreg@ggu.edu or 415-442-6620.
What can I do if I am charged incorrectly for my courses and/or fees?
Contact the Registration Office at registration@ggu.edu or (415) 442-7222. Law students should contact the Law Registrar's Office at lawreg@ggu.edu or 415-442-6620.
What should I do if I have been advised and obtained approval to register, and change my mind about the courses I want to take?
If you needed advising in order to register, you will need re-approval to register for different courses. Contact your adviser so s/he can approve the changes, then submit your modified registration.
How do I drop a course?
Prior to the "Last Day to Drop" (per the applicable academic calendar), you may drop the course online. Select "Drop Courses" from the GGU4YOU "Student" menu to begin the process. For further assistance, contact the Registration Office at registration@ggu.edu or (415) 442-7222. Law students should contact the Law Registrar's Office at lawreg@ggu.edu or 415-442-6620.
How do I obtain a refund for a course I have dropped?
Dropped courses are subject to the conditions in the university's Withdrawal and Refund Policy. Law students are subject to the Law School's Withdrawal Tuition Credit Policy.
What should I do if I dispute the amount of refund I receive for dropping a course?
You may submit a financial petition, along with any documentation you feel would support your request, to Student Accounting Services 536 Mission St. San Francisco, CA 94195. Your petition will be reviewed by the Financial Petition Committee, which will send you a written response within 30 days. Law students should not submit Financial Petitions to Student Accounting Services. Instead, submit your petition to the Law School Registrar at the address above. Law student Financial Petition forms are also available at the Law Registrar's Office.
