Step 1: Place a waitlisted course section on your preferred list
If a course section is full but accepting a waitlist, you may place yourself on the waitlist from the Register/Drop Course Sections page. You can see if a section already has a waitlist when you select it to be placed on your "Preferred Sections" list from the Select Course Sections page.
Step 2: Place yourself on the waitlist
To place yourself on a section's waitlist, select "Waitlist" from the Register/Drop Course Sections page and click "Submit."
Step 3: Check your e-mail mailbox
If a seat becomes available, will be notified by e-mail. The message will include the date and time by which you must register for the section, and if you fail to meet the deadline, your opportunity will be lost and the seat will be given to the next person on the waitlist. If you still want to register for that section, you may place yourself on the waitlist again by following steps 1 and 2 above.
Step 4: Manage your waitlist
After you receive the e-mail indicating a seat is available, click on "Manage My Waitlist" from the Student tab menu to register for the course section. Select the "Register" action and click "Submit." If you're already registered for a different section of that course or for a course section that has meeting dates that conflict with it, you must drop it.
If registering in the waitlisted course would put you in overload status, you must drop another section. If you have received a waiver of rules and are allowed to enroll in overload status, you may register, but not online. Submit a hard copy Registration form to the Office of Records & Registration or a
Schedule Change Request form to the Law School Registrar's Office.
If you no longer want to be on the waitlist for a section, select "Remove." Law School students should not select "Register Pass/No Pass" or "Audit" as these actions are not available to them.
Step 5: Review results
Review your registration results carefully.
