Laurie Haskell, MS

Associate Director, Office of Career Planning

Laurie Haskell provides career advising to students and alumni, assisting them with career choice, resume development, job search techniques and interviewing strategies.

Laurie has career counseling experience serving undergraduate and graduate students at public and private higher education institutions, including Saint Mary's College of California, UC Berkeley, College of San Mateo and Yale University. Laurie comes to the field with experience in recruiting in engineering, office administration, science, and technology.

Laurie has an MS in counseling with a career counseling specialization from San Francisco State University and a BA in psychology from University of New Hampshire. She holds the National Counselor Certification (NCC), the Master Career Counselor (MCC) designation and the Distance Counseling Credential (DCC).


Neepa Parikh, MS

Assistant Director, Office of Career Planning

Neepa Parikh is a dedicated career counseling professional who works with both students and alumni in developing opportunities for career satisfaction. Neepa loves resumes and provides ongoing assistance with interviewing, job search and networking strategies.

Prior to joining the team at GGU, Neepa provided comprehensive career services at Mills College and has experience counseling within higher education, high school and a juvenile detention center. She has also spent some time abroad and is fluent in Spanish.

Neepa holds a M.S. in Counseling with a career and college specialization from San Francisco State University and a B.A. in Criminology from the University of California, Irvine.


Kayla Krupnick Walsh, MA

Associate Director, Office of Career Planning

Kayla Krupnick Walsh provides career advising to support students and alumni in a wide range of career development areas including career exploration and the job search process. In addition to her work at Golden Gate University, Kayla is also adjunct faculty at The Art Institute of California - San Francisco where she teaches career development related courses.

Prior to coming to Golden Gate University, Kayla worked as an Assistant Director at New York University's Wasserman Center for Career Development. She has also counseled students and alumni at Columbia University, The New School, and LaGuardia Community College.

Kayla holds an EdM and an MA in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College at Columbia University and a BA from Vassar College.


Shelley Samuels

Career Advisor

Shelley M. Samuels has a diverse background that she is honing as a graduate student at San Francisco State University; majoring in Career Counseling, Gerontology and Clinical Counseling. Previously, Shelley was the Talent Coach for Coming of Age Bay Area, where she helped mature clients exploring their future options, second career and goal setting issues. She also worked as the Non-Profit Employment Specialist at JVS, where she counseled jobseekers with career goals in the non-profit sector, facilitated a support group for job seekers over 50, and conducted workshops geared toward mature workers. Shelley is very passionate about facilitating life and work transitions for Baby Boomers, and intergenerational communication. She has been involved with career transition theory for over ten years, working with Alumnae Resources and a personal career coach.

Shelley's professional background includes private and public sector recruitment, and acting as a consulting recruiter for several nonprofit organizations. Her experience includes human resources management for San Leandro Hospital, Alameda County, the San Francisco Public Health Department; and business development consulting. After studying religious philosophy in Jerusalem, Israel; Shelley graduated with high honors from San Francisco State University with a major in Women Studies and a minor in Creative Writing.
