Institutional TOEFL Exams at GGU

The Institutional TOEFL exam is a test of English Language skills for those students whose native language is other than English. The Institutional TOEFL exam at GGU is restricted to currently enrolled GGU students and applicants to GGU. Policies of the Educational Testing Service (ETS) require that schools administer Institutional TOEFL only to the institution's own students and prevent Golden Gate University from providing your scores to other institutions. If you need a TOEFL score for another institution, you must take the International TOEFL.

Exam Dates

There are three parts to the exam:
  1. Listening Comprehension
  2. Structure and Written Expression
  3. Vocabulary and Reading Expression
Each part of the test is timed separately. The questions are multiple-choice with four possible answers per question. Books or dictionaries cannot be used during the test. The test is approximately two and one-half hours, but additional time is required for check-in procedures, reading instructions and distributing and collecting test materials. Examinees should expect to be in the exam room a total of 4 hours from the reporting time until they are released.
