2. May I participate in the 2013 commencement if I will graduate at the end of the Fall 2013 Trimester?
No. Students who are graduating in the Fall 2013 trimester may not participate in the Spring 2013 commencement. The processing of Fall 2013 applications will begin after December 2013. Fall 2013 graduates may participate in the Spring 2014 commencement.
3. If I am graduating at the end of Summer 2012, Fall 2012, Spring 2013, or Summer 2013, what should I do?
- Apply using GGU4YOU at the main www.ggu.edu website. -or-
- Download the Graduation Application Form
- Complete the form and submit it with your Graduation Application Fee to the Customer Service Counter on the 2nd Floor of the 40 Jessie building.
4. When is the deadline to register for commencement?
Students who want to participate in the Spring 2013 ceremony MUST apply by March 1, 2013.
5. I missed the March 1, 2013 commencement deadline. What should I do?
Submit the application form now and e-mail the Office of Student Affairs (commencement@ggu.edu) and request to be placed on the waiting list.
6. What is the fee?
The commencement fee is $100.
7. I already have academic regalia. Do I still need to reserve the regalia?
Yes. We ask that all students wear the same regalia.
8. Why are there application deadlines?
Student Affairs staff need to plan commencement, have the commencement program designed, edited, and printed, organize seating configurations, distribute an accurate amount of guest tickets, and order academic regalia for all students and faculty. We must also allow printing time for the programs and shipping time for regalia orders. Accepting late applications is unfair to all graduates.
9. When will students find out information about commencement?
All students will receive information during the second week of February. This packet will include information on how and when students must reserve their spot to participate in the ceremony and how to reserve their regalia. A second mailing will go out only to students who have reserved their spot by the deadline indicated in the first mailing during the month February. This mailing will include information about tickets, regalia pick-up and generic announcements.
