Databases
RefWorks -- A way to manage your search results
What is a Database?
A database is an index of articles, facts, books, and other resources. We choose specific databases that will meet the needs of the courses and programs at GGU. If you have any questions about databases, contact a librarian for assistance by phone at (415) 442-7244 or email at askalibrarian@ggu.edu.
Accessing Databases
Databases are easy to use and can be accessed from any GGU campus. To gain access remotely, you need to log in with your last name and student ID number or CyberCampus Username. If you have any access issues, please e-mail us askalibrarian@ggu.edu.
Types of Databases
The University Library has several different types of databases, including:
-
Full-text Databases which give access to the entire text of articles and documents, for example electronic dictionaries and encyclopedias, but also journals, conferences, market research reports, directories, laws, etc.
-
Combination Databases offer full-text and abstract articles and documents, for example an index including both citations to articles and their complete text. Example: EBSCO's Academic Search Premier.
-
Content Specific Databases offer subject specific information, such as financial and market data like annual reports, company information, country information, and investor reports.
