| INTRODUCTION | | |
|
| This research guide is designed to help you find information about Business Plans, including what a business plan is, how to write one, and what kinds of information you need. When writing a business plan, you will need to look at different types of information sources: |
| Industry and market reports: These reports contain industry overviews, market research, competitor information, market share, and consumer survey results. |
| Company reports: Databases in the category will help you search for SWOT Analysis, company reports, company financials, product information, and investment analyst reports. If you are creating a plan for a new business, looking at similar companies can be a helpful starting point. |
| Books: Books are useful when looking for information on how to write a business plan, what kind of content is included, and for finding sample business plans. |
| Websites: There are many useful websites that can help when you are writing a business plan. Our librarians have selected a few they consider especially useful. Remember to evaluate internet sources to ensure the information you find is reliable. Check out Evaluating Sources in our Research Process section for more information. |
| Before beginning your research, it is helpful to consult with one of our librarians at the Reference Desk to map out a strategy and choose which type of information source is best for your research. You can call (415) 442-7244, e-mail askalibrarian@ggu.edu, or stop by the Reference Desk at the University Library. |
