INTRODUCTION

This research guide is designed to help you find information about Human Resources Management, including human resource planning, staffing, training, performance management, compensation and benefits, labor relations and employee separation. In your research on human resource management, you will need to look at different types of information sources:

Reference Materials: Reference Materials will give you an overview or provide standard laws, rules and regulations surrounding HRM.

Articles: The library's article databases include newspapers, trade journals and academic journals. Articles can provide specific examples of specific HRM strategies in use and provide current information in the field.

Books: Books can offer good overviews of specific areas of HR, case studies, and practical guides on all aspects of HRM.

Web sites: The internet, especially HR related association websites, can be a good source to find practical information in the field.

Before beginning your research, it is helpful to consult with one of our librarians at the Reference Desk to map out a strategy and choose which type of information source is best for your research. You can call (415) 442-7244, e-mail askalibrarian@ggu.edu or stop by the Reference Desk at the University Library.
