INTRODUCTION

This research guide is designed to help you find information about Psychology, including applied psychology, behavioral psychology, tests and measurements, counseling, and more. In your research on psychology, you will need to look at different types of information sources:

Reference Materials: Reference Materials will give you a topic overview and provide background on your topic.

Articles: The library's article databases include scholarly journals, trade journals, and newspapers. Articles can provide psychological studies as well as business psychology studies.

Books: Books can offer good overviews of specific areas of psychology, case studies, and practical guides on many aspects of psychology.

Tests: Psychological tests and assessment tools can be used in a number of ways including counseling, hiring, and team building.

Wilson OmniFile Full Text	This general database contains full-text articles from thousands of different journals in a variety of subjects including the social sciences and business. Its easy to use search screen and results page helps you easily perform and organize your research.
Academic Search Elite (via EBSCO)	To find information on a specific issue, type in a keyword and click search. In the results list, you can click on the links at the top of the list for magazines, academic journals. [Click on Academic Journals & select Academic Search Elite].
Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition (via EBSCO)	A resource designed for nursing students; this database has over 500 peer-reviewed journals. Articles are broadly medical based but not only for nurses. [Click on Academic Journals & select Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition].
Clinical Pharmacology (via EBSCO)	Up-to-date information from the latest pharmaceutical monographs and publications. It contains information on all U.S. Prescription medicines as well as nutritional supplements and herbal concoctions. [Click on Academic Journals and select Clinical Pharmacology].
PubMed(National Library of Medicine)	Provides citations and full text in all areas of medicine, nursing, health services administration, nutrition and the preclinical sciences. [Note: no login required].
Alt Health Watch (via EBSCO)	Specializing in alternative and complementary medicine, this database contains full text articles from over 180 publications (some peer-reviewed). [Click on Academic Journals and select Alt Health Watch].
Lexis-Nexis Academic	Provides full-text and abstracts on a broad range of subjects including reference materials, accounting, economics, finance, human resource development, legal research, management, marketing and e-business, medical, news. Use for current events and medical information.
Social Science Research Network (SSRN)	Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is an online open access database of working papers on a variety of topics related to the social sciences, including psychology, public administration, and health services management. The SSRN eLibrary contains over 183,900 abstracts for scholarly working papers and over 147,500 full text documents in pdf format.

Ebrary	Ebrary is the library's database of electronic books. You can search for case studies, overviews of topics, modern theories, and historical psychological thought.
