There are a variety of networks in place for students to stay connected. Student Government involves students in university policies, goals and objectives. Student organizations allow students the chance to learn valuable skills and network with their peers here at the University. The student newsletter connects current students with faculty, alumni, and each other, allowing each a chance to keep up with classes, job openings, and any news from the administration.
why ggu: Services
Our graduates frequently tell us that our individual attention is what sets us apart from other universities. Discover for yourself the many services we offer students; from the time students apply to the time they graduate, we have members of the faculty and staff to help them along the way.
One thing that sets Golden Gate University apart from our contemporaries is our commitment to helping each student on an individual basis. That's exactly why we offer a variety of learning support services both on site as well as online. Most of our tutors have a master's degree in their field, and many of them are instructors here at GGU, so they understand what it takes for students to succeed in their classwork and in their careers.
Three weeks into your first semester, you'll be paired with a student services advisor who will work with you to develop a plan of study. Your advisor will act as a liaison between your and your instructors, career counselors, and financial planners. Your advisor will help you select appropriate courses, answer questions about career planning, and provide specific academic advising.
Student Life at Golden Gate University is defined by three features: information, involvement, and networking. Whether a full time or part time student, online or on campus, every student is encouraged to stay connected and stay informed about GGU. We offer a number of different resources that our students can take advantage of to keep up with all the news and changes taking place with GGU.
BRINGING STUDENTS TOGETHER
At Golden Gate University, we want to give you more than just an education; we want to give you the tools and resources to help you find a new career or advance your current career. As a GGU student, you will have access to internships, job postings, and connections with professors and alumni. Our course offerings are designed to prepare you for professional success, yet it is our alumni and connections that make your time at GGU valuable.
Golden Gate University has two libraries: the University Library, which serves the entire GGU community, and the Law Library, which primarily serves the students, staff, and faculty at the School of Law. Both libraries are located at our San Francisco Campus, and San Francisco-based students can take advantage of classes and workshops held by the knowledgeable and helpful staff of librarians.
GGU4YOU is a web-based interface that allows you to access information contained in the administrative database used by Golden Gate University. It hosts all the major forms and information needed as you progress from admission to graduation. The information is laid out so that you will always be informed of your current status or if anything important is missing in our records.
Golden Gate University's CyberCampus offers a virtual classroom experience that combines academic rigor with flexibility. Courses are composed of highly-practical educational content taught by working professionals in their fields. All courses are web-based, and coursework can be completed anytime, anywhere, so you can work at your convenience.
CyberCampus now serves approximately over 5,000 fully cyber students, 1,100 mixed mode students, and 4,200 web-enhanced students annually. Over the last ten years, Golden Gate University has been at the forefront of online education, and to this day we continue to innovate, offering online courses, student communities, service tools, and demonstration courses.
