Financial Resources During the 2021 COVID-19 Pandemic

We know that this is not an easy time for anyone. We recognize that the current situation may have caused unanticipated financial challenges for our students. We are thinking about all of you and how we can help you through this time. GGU has multiple, but limited, financial resources available to students during this trying time.

COVID-19 Emergency Grants

GGU, through funding from the federal government and institutional resources, has established a COVID-19 Emergency Grant fund to support unexpected costs due to the extraordinary circumstances of the global COVID-19 outbreak. Emergency grants in the amount of $500 are available to students in good academic standing enrolled at GGU for the term the application is being submitted. Funding is limited, and only one application per student will be considered, however GGU is committed to assist as many students as possible but some requests may be denied.

Examples of Unexpected Expenses
  • Emergency relocation/temporary housing expenses
  • Temporary food insecurity/increased food expenses
  • Technology: new/upgraded laptop, upgraded internet/wi-fi, upgraded software and hardware
  • Child care
  • Mental health counseling
Expenses Generally Not Covered
  • Tuition and student fees
  • Outstanding debt to the university or otherwise (i.e. credit cards, fees past due, etc.)
  • Other university fees
