Students who complete the certificate and choose to pursue a graduate accounting degree
may have certain graduate requirements waived upon review by the School of Accounting.
Important Note:Graduate certificate admission is limited to domestic students. Students that plan
to study on an F or J Visa may apply to graduate programs only.

All courses must be completed at Golden Gate University with a cumulative grade-point
average (GPA) of 3.00 (“B” average) or better in courses taken at Golden Gate University
that are applicable to the program’s requirements.
Course prerequisites are indicated in the course description for each course and must
be satisfied prior to enrolling in a given course. Prerequisites may be satisfied
through transfer of equivalent coursework from external institutions or by taking
the courses at GGU.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited US institution
or the equivalent from a recognized foreign (outside the US) institution, and provide
official transcripts.
- Applicants whose native language is not English must meet the English Language Proficiency Admission Requirements.
- Applicants who earned a CPA license can waive the English Language requirement.
- Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.00 should submit a statement of purpose
and a resume.
The statement of purpose should address the circumstances that may have led the applicants
to poor academic performance, what had changed and why they think they'll be successful
now.
- F-1 Visa holders are not eligible.

Our accounting program is highly relevant and focuses on skills that are in high demand.
Included are concentrations aimed at helping you pass the CPA exam, developing leadership
skills or advanced accounting analytics skills, or to gain a deeper understanding
of taxation. Our programs, which are fully accredited by the Western Association
of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), are available
both at our main San Francisco campus and online.
