Dr. Aihua Zelinsky began her teaching career at college level in 1985. She has taught
a number of different courses at home and abroad. Dr. Zelinsky has also taught at
adult school and high school levels. She received her DPA in 2005 from Golden Gate
University. She was awarded a Master degree with honor in Education from Cal Poly
San Luis Obispo in 1996 and TESL (Teaching English as Second Language) certificate
from Cal Ploy in 1994. Aihua began her career teaching English as a second language
to University students in China. After she entered the United States, she worked in
a variety of administrative positions at a California University.
She is actively involved in community service programs and is Vice Chair and a member
of board directors of APAPA East Bay Chapter (Asian Pacific Islander American Public
Affairs Association) organization and a board member and Co-President of LWVEA (League
of Women Voters Eden Area). She is also a board member of her HOA and Northern California
Speed Skating Association. She is bilingual in Chinese and English and has published
articles on topics of voter education and public involvement in politics in the Chinese
newspaper of World Journal and in the Voter—LWVEA Newsletter. She was a committee
member for a couple of doctor degree candidates and editor in charge of editorial
committee of APAPA. She is married and has two children. Aihua enjoys volunteering,
skating, movies, hiking, and reading.
