Basil is a CPA with diversified experience in both public accounting and industry. He has extensive experience in the execution of capital market transactions (such as M&A deals, IPOs, 1934 Act equity offerings, private placement debt offerings, spin-offs, dispositions and divestitures, carve-outs), complex accounting issues and topics (such as consolidation and deconsolidation, transfers and servicing of financial assets, debt and equity, fair value, embedded derivatives, pro forms for acquisitions and dispositions), accounting policy reviews (including policy alignments, change in accounting policies and adoption of new accounting standards) and accounting change (U.S. GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards [IFRS]).

Basil obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Economics from the University of Arizona where he was an honors student and he obtained his graduate degree in Accounting from the University of Virginia. Basil started his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young in San Francisco before joining the Accounting Advisory team in New York. Basil also worked at PwC’s Capital Markets Deals team in New York before joining OneMain Financial formally known as Springleaf Financial Services, the largest consumer lending company in the Country. Basil was also the Head of Accounting Policy at LendingClub Corporation, the largest marketplace lender in the world. More recently, Basil is an investor and strategic advisor for startups, financial services and healthcare companies.
