Professor Iana Zemniakova was born in Russia and grew up in Germany and Belarus. She
received her degree in Law from the Academy of Business Administration. After graduation,
she passed the Bar exam and worked as an attorney for several years until she moved
to California. Accounting & Finance is her second career. She took many accounting
and tax classes from Foothill College and SFSU to pass the CPA exam and then ended
up taking the Master of Accountancy program at Golden Gate University. She also completed
the Graduate Certificates in Corporate Finance and Operations and Supply Chain Management
programs at GGU and now she is working on her MBA. She has been teaching at GGU for
over 9 years.
She previously taught ACCTG 1A Introductory Financial Accounting , ACCTG 50 Financial
Accounting for Accounting Majors, ACCTG 100A Intermediate Accounting, ACCTG108 Federal
Income Tax, ACCTG 200 Financial Accounting for Accounting Majors, ACCTG 201 Accounting
for Managers, ACCTG 301A -Intermediate Accounting I, and FI314 Working Capital Management.
She resides and works in SF Bay Area (East Bay). She is currently employed as Chief
Financial Officer at RGB Spectrum, a leading designer and manufacturer of cutting-edge
video graphic products for audio-visual, industrial, medical, and military applications.
She has over 20 years of experience; most recent includes VP of Finance, Senior Director
of Finance, Corporate Controller, and Accounting Manager. She is a Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor®. She is a member of CalCPA
and served as CalCPA Committee Chair, QuickBooks Users Group for 2 years.
