Joanne Ferris is a partner at Delagnes, Mitchell and Linder, LLP in San Francisco.
She specializes in compliance and strategic planning for individuals and family groups,
closely held businesses and exempt organizations. She works closely with clients to
determine the most tax efficient way to structure transactions in both the short and
long term. Joanne has been an adjunct professor in the School of Accounting at Golden
Gate University since Fall 2008. She currently teaches graduate courses on individual
taxation and the taxation of corporations & other entities.
She received her undergraduate degree from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland in English
Literature in 1998, her Master's in Accounting from Golden Gate University, San Francisco
in 2003 and her Master's of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 2012.
She is a California Certified Public Accountant (2005). Joanne is a member of the
California CPA Society and frequently volunteers at their "Call a CPA Night". She
has sat on the board of a number of local non-profits, including San Francisco International
Program. Joanne is a member of the Financial Women Association of San Francisco,
ProVisors and the Women’s Leadership Council of the United Way Bay Area. She frequently
speaks to non-profit organizations on financial literacy and tax planning for young
adults.
