John is a Bay Area native, with over 30 years’ experience in accounting, finance, business development and strategy, operations, and information technology. His career started in public accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick, and later transitioned into private industry, specifically within the intermodal transportation leasing industry. He has held a variety of roles and responsibilities including Controller, Director of Finance, VP Finance, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, and Chief Financial Officer, and possess over 15 years of experience in SEC reporting, as well as private equity funded growth and turnaround environments. John served as VP Operations, Technology and Development for an international company, enhancing and developing the company’s accounting, operations, planning and reporting systems, including internal and external reporting, business metrics, dashboards and business intelligence. Currently, he is the CFO for a manufacturer of custom motorcycle parts, Arlen Ness Enterprises.

John hold multiple degrees, including a BS Accounting from the University of San Francisco, and a MBA from Saint Mary’s California. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and Certified Global Management Accountant. He has also served on the board of a small, Indian based, technology company, iInterchange.

John joined Golden Gate University as an adjunct faculty member in 2015. When not teaching or working, he enjoys the mountains with his family, motorcycling, and golfing.
