John R. Thomas, CFA is a Partner and Vice Chairman of Martingale Asset Management,
a Boston based investment management firm serving institutional clients. In addition
to helping Martingale address critical business and strategic issues, he is responsible
for strengthening major client relationships in Asia and in the Western U.S.
Prior to joining Martingale in 2010, John had a 34-year career at J.P. Morgan Investment
Management, including eight years on the executive committee, five years as president
of J.P. Morgan Trust Bank (Japan) and ten years as head of its institutional marketing
group.
After retiring from J.P. Morgan, John built an independent consultancy serving investment management companies, including Martingale and Nomura FR&T, and he also co-founded a hedge fund investing in small cap Japanese companies.
