Kathryn Meyer

Kathryn A. Meyer is the Area Counsel with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, Small Business/Self-Employed Division. She oversees Area 7, which includes offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, Seattle, Portland, and Honolulu. Ms. Meyer joined the IRS in 1999 and served in the Laguna Nigel and Los Angeles, California offices as well as at Division Headquarters in New Carrollton, Maryland. Ms. Meyer also previously served as a Special Assistance United States Attorney representing the IRS in the Central District of California Bankruptcy Court.

Ms. Meyer is a regular instructor with the IRS and Office of Chief Counsel. She previously taught courses at GGU’s Los Angeles campus including Property Transactions, Choice of Business Entities, and Bankruptcy Taxation. She also taught Federal Tax Procedure and led a Litigation clinic at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.

Ms. Meyer has an LLM (Taxation) from Boston University School of Law, her JD from Willamette University College of Law, and her BA from the University of Southern California.
