Professor Kristin Rosi is the Chief Administrative Law Judge with the California Department
of Insurance, where she presides over and conducts evidentiary hearings on a variety
of insurance-related claims. She is also a Mental Health Hearing Officer and Pro
Tem Judge with the Alameda County Superior Court, where she presides over capacity
hearings, small claims, traffic and unlawful detainer matters. Kristin is a Chair
of the New Judges Committee and a member of the Committee on Administrative Law for
the National Association of Women Judges. Prior to becoming an ALJ, she was the Senior
Regional Attorney at the California Public Employment Relations Board. Kristin participated
in the Charles M. Dana Fellowship in 1991 and earned the title of Public Interest
Law Scholar in 1995. Kristin holds a B.A. in Psychology and Women’s Studies from
Smith College, a Masters in Judicial Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno-National
Judicial College and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of
Law.
