Maria Cristina Samaco-Zamora, Ph.D. (Nina) is a Clinical Psychologist but these days she is an academician, a researcher and writer, and a yoga teacher.
She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University in March 2013. While in the Philippines, Nina developed a counseling program for sexually abused children in a non-government organization orphanage. When the Typhoon Haiyan devastated parts of the Philippines, Nina trained and led a group of volunteers to provide Psychological First Aid for the victims. Since moving to the Bay Area 3 years ago, Nina has been involved with various projects. She volunteered at the Asian Community Mental Health Services to introduce yoga and its mental health benefits. Nina also served as a consultant for the Suicide Prevention campaign.
