Steve Hawkey

Dr. Hawkey is Professor of Finance in the Department of Finance and Economics. A member of the University’s full-time faculty since 1981, his undergraduate degree is from Duke and his graduate degrees are from Columbia and from Golden Gate. His academic interests lie in the areas of corporate finance and investments. His professional background includes international banking and commercial finance. Dr. Hawkey has consulted in the areas of business valuation and investment banking, and has been an expert witness in civil litigation focusing on valuation. He received the University’s first Outstanding Teaching Award and has been the recipient of numerous “Golden Apple” teaching awards bestowed by the students of Golden Gate.
